Reebok, will once again sponsor the event, which drew over 400 lacrosse players at the Final Four Casting Tour. Producers J. Todd Harris and Mitchell Peck will be looking for lacrosse players and actors to be featured in the movie being shot this summer in the Boston area. Details are on each city’s casting event are below.

The producers announced the signing of Superman Returns star Brandon Routh to play the film’s leading role. The movie, written by Virginia native Todd Baird, tells the story of a Native American high school team’s unlikely ascent to the Prep League championship game. Veteran Hollywood director Steve Rash (The Buddy Holly Story, Can’t Buy Me Love, Bring It On 3 and 4) will helm the picture set for nationwide theatrical release during the spring of 2012 at the peak of lacrosse season.

The lacrosse drills will be run by Sports Studio’s Coach Mark Ellis. Ellis is best known for casting the athletes and choreographing the action in Miracle, Invincible, The Longest Yard, and Game Plan, among other sports movies classics.

“We were thrilled by the turnout in Baltimore,” commented Harris. “We saw a lot of great lacrosse players, but had to trim the call-back list to the best 24. It was no small task! We’re expecting equally strong showings in the Tri-State area, and next month in Boston. Every region takes great pride in its lacrosse talent. And there are a lot of people who think that this area produces the best lacrosse players in the world. ”

Added Peck, “Reebok has been an amazing partner in this first ever lacrosse movie. We all know that there’s a passionate, loyal and enormous audience who’s hungry for a great lacrosse movie right now.”

The film has received support from many major lacrosse organizations, including US Lacrosse, the NLL, the MLL, Metrolacrosse and the Tewaaraton Committee. In addition, the movie has been endorsed by dozens of lacrosse’s best-known coaches and players at every level.

  1. If I already auditioned in Baltimore and was one of the people chosen to be filmed do I have to go to another audition in NY CT or NJ?

  2. will you be auditioning in suffolk county, NY at all??

  3. Hi Chad – thanks for coming out to meet us in Baltimore. As Rene, our casting direction, explained, you have actually NOT completed the audition process for a speaking role until you have uploaded your “Acting Audition” to Sports Studio Casting.

You can find your audition packet by entering your name and email address on our Audition Page.

You do not need to come by to any of the athletic auditions listed here or in the future.

  4. Hey Eric, we’re hittin’ up Hempstead, New York, for our New York Audition. You are free to meet us there or any of the other places mentioned in this article. Good luck!

  5. Are you guys coming to Dallas, Texas?

  6. Wondering if its worthwhile for a kid from California to try auditioning via an audition film? You all probably are not coming out this way for a reason so I’m guessing that even if I were to do well it would be a big stretch to do anything film – wise?

  7. I submitted my resume through Sports Studio casting, actually was already listed with them. I have acting and modeling experience and in fact have done modeling for Reebok, twice last year. I am a Lacrosse player for Duxbury High School and am being actively recruited for College play. I could not make Baltimore and cannot make these new dates either because we are playing in the playoffs. I have contacted my agent in Boston, MA to see if there is a casting call coming to Boston, but he has not heard of one. Are you coming to Boston and if so when?

  8. shhhh_do you hear that(!?!)it’s the faint sound of drumming approaching closer~~>the sweet vibrational drum sounds JoJo WAR DRUMMER is producing~~>…approaching CROOKED ARROWS Face Off time…WOOOOOOOOO

  9. Absolutely. We have videos coming in from all over and will be looking carefully at each.

  10. Unfortunately, no, however we are accepting audition videos from all over. You can learn more about video submissions on our Audition Page.

  11. We’ll definitely be headed to Boston, Jonathan, although dates are not yet set which is why you haven’t heard a formal annoucement. We’ll definitely keep you posted, and please sign up for our email list if you haven’t already to get new information about auditions as soon as we make announcements.
